Background

Under the eco-Energy Retrofit program, homeowners can receive government grants to help them make their homes more energy efficient through eligible renovations.  However, this program is scheduled to end as of March 31, 2011.  The federal 2011 Budget proposes to extend the program into 2011-2012.  No details have yet been provided and the Budget has not yet been approved by parliament.   The government has indicated that until decisions are announced regarding the new funding, all participants currently in the program should respect the March 31, 2011, deadline to obtain their post-retrofit evaluation and ensure they remain eligible for the retrofit grant.
